The BBC’s Hidden Heroines competition saw Betty Campbell become the first woman to have a statue commissioned for display in Wales (unveiled in Cardiff in summer 2021). Monumental Welsh Women, the group of volunteers who ran the campaign, decide to carry on the good work and, supported by the Welsh Government, seek to raise five statues in all.
